Paws Up Pet Nanny is a reputable, locally owned pet sitting and dog walking company that services the South Durham area. Our pet sitters provide exceptional service and care for our clients’ pets in their homes 365 days a year. We seek to hire positive, highly motivated, and detail-oriented animal enthusiasts as team members who can provide the best care for our clients’ pets.
Pet Sitter Responsibilities
- Reading and responding to emails and schedule changes from management every day
- Daily professional communication with clients and management via text, email, phone, and app
- Provide exceptional care for all types of dogs, cats, birds, and house pets
- Frequent leash walking of all sizes and breeds of dogs while keeping the pets’ safety the number one priority
- Service clients in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, cold, heat, in daylight and after dark
- Safely enter clients’ homes as the clients instruct. Entry may be through a garage overhead door or other door with keyless or keyed entry, and may require arming and disarming alarm security systems without apprehension
- Keep clients’ homes secure upon entering and departing
- Keep clients’ homes and pet areas clean and free of any messes
- Provide detailed visit notes to both clients and management
- Adjust to a schedule that changes frequently to accommodate short-notice requests by clients, management, or other employees
Basic Requirements for ALL Applicants
- You must be 18+ years of age
- Must have a valid ID, a current driver’s license, and your own reliable vehicle
- Must have a smartphone and know how to place phone calls, text, and add, install, and use apps. (The flashlight feature is often handy, too)
- Must be willing to complete our comprehensive hiring process. This process may include multiple interviews, reference checks, and a national background check
- Must be able to commit to long-term, continued employment. This is not contracted work; if hired, you would be an employee of Paws Up Pet Nanny, LLC
- Must have regular, ongoing availability, and commit to your availability in writing
